Familial breeding of Russian Blue and Siberian cats

Daria

Our Daria: Siberian-Neva Mascarade (seal tabby point with white)

"Siberians are perfectly appropriate to a family life, are self-confident, proud, do few silly things and have a calm temperament."

This is absolutely true, however in our case we didn’t noted the "do few silly things" when our dear Dacha was a kitten, and made our life sometimes passably difficult. Its passages in the living room often took forms of a storm under the features of a white swell of 2 months old and 2 kg.

Our palm leaf was transformed into a climb-tree and not making " the weight " vis-a-vis in Dacha fell to each one of her climb attempts. Since we invested (for the greatest joy of all) in a cat tree of 2 m 65.

However I should say, that today she is 1 year and 4 months old, and is a very gentle cat, still loving play with her favorite mouse !

Indeed Siberians are very cuddles animals, they can also defend their territory. This cat does not fear dogs and can defend its part of the garden against any intruder!

Major defects of Siberians are closely related to they qualities, but are especially they lack of assiduity and they stubbornness.

Provide you with patience and discipline without fault in education of your animal, without what the expected results will never come.

The best example is in my view the bed, the small tenderising ball of hair will be huddle up against you every evening and every evening it will be necessary to move the ball in question in its basket. This should be repeated for 2-3 month without ever yielding, without what when the ball makes 8-10 kg, you will be less tenderised to see it on your pillow in your place.

The bed and the dinning-table were the object of a long education (almost) without faults, but the result is very satisfactory: we dine and sleep without our dear companions, who remain in their place, but comes to seek the cuddles at the end of the meal and especially in the morning with the alarm clock.

When the Siberian is of bad mood it can completely ignore its Masters in spite of caresses and softness.

This is probably a heritage of its wild ancestors.

Kittens, they adore play, run, drive out any object resembling by close (a spider) or by far (slippers) a prey (rat / bird / mouse).

Another characteristic of Siberians is their love of water, which they don’t fear, and their capacity of good swimmers.

It often arrived to us to be astonished by seeing Dacha lengthened in the still wet bath-tub and appreciating the baths that we give her before the shows.
