Independent, solid, proud, beautiful - the Siberian is part of the largest domestic cats in the world
If one compares Siberia with Europe and Asia, the cats y appeared there relatively late. This is explained by the fact that the people living in Siberia cultivated only very little the ground, preferring hunting.
The cats arrived to Siberia with the first merchants of China, Mongolia and the Western areas of Russia. At that time, the aboriginals didn't have any domestic cats, being satisfied with Siberian Laikas (Husky) to catch the mice and rats. Indeed, Laikas could catch up to 30 mice and rats per day, moreover the greatest danger weren't mice, but the shelves, that Laikas drove out with wonder.
The first Siberian cats appeared in Western Siberia, then in Eastern Siberia.
It is interesting to note that the large reformer Pierre I, has not forgotten the cats, and in one of its ukase ordered " to hold the cats in the reserves with end to protect its contents from the rats and other mice ".
Siberian cat truth is very enduring and likes to walk a long time be like winter. The walk is essential for him.

The Siberian are very independent, can frustrate, then boycott and ignore their Masters and even food. As the dogs they're attached to only one person of the family, they find without fault the head or " leader " and allow him all. They consider the other members of the family as the remainder of the " pack " and behave with them as equal with equal. It is known that the wild cats do not fear water and fish readily well. One already observed the Siberian cat fishing: the cat leans above the water by observing fish and as soon as one of them approaches, with a blow of leg the cat comes out fish out of water on bank and kills it with a fast bite.
Siberians are also good hunters and then they are kittens, they also like to exert their talent at the house. Some call these practices " of the flight " and are unaware of this characteristic of the cats. But a piece of sausage left on the table is a perfect target, and a deserved trophy. However one can exchange them and thus they understand quickly that the sausage is the " hunting " of the leader and they do not have the right to touch it. This behaviour is natural for every cat. The lionesses and young lions wait until the head of the pack eats before to have any piece for them. For the same reason that the cats bring to their Master in gift their prey (what always does not make the joy of their mistress.)
Still one of the characteristics of Siberian is a curiosity without limits!
