Russia Imperial

Familial breeding of Russian Blue and Siberian cats

Description

According to the book of the records " Guiness ", the largest of the 330 breeds recognised by FIFe (international cats federation) is Ragdoll (6.8 - 9.09 kg). However the Siberians’ males easily exceed 10 - 11 kg, though the standard not being definitively established by FIFe, the race is not part of the " Guiness " yet.

Our Daria Miloslavskaia Perle de Neva

Currently the Siberian received the " SIB " code and is part of half-long the hairs group. The first established standard and completely recognised is that of the WCF (World Cat Federation).
The true Siberian cat - is large, broad, muscular, and solid.

Its origin is probably due to the crossing between the ordinary cat and the brought back cats of Asia, with wildcats of the Siberian forests.

This race which was thus formed naturally, is famous for its good health and its accommodating character.

Kouzia Perle de Neva

The Siberian is an all in roundness cat (head, body).

Colourpoint Siberian are called " Neva Mascarade ", because they were caught for the first time in the area of St Petersburg close to the river Neva and their extraordinary colour was worth the name of " masquerade ".

Standard :

1. The body is dense, slightly extended, with a solid neck, a broad chest, a well-developed back.

2. Legs are strong, round, not too large and tufts of the hairs are present between each finger, which facilitate its movements in snow and protects it from the cold. Because of its significant mass, the cat does not appear high.

3. Its tail is long, right and very hairy.

4. The head is large, broad, forming a trapezoid, punt in top with a face slightly curvature. The muzzle is right, fairly long, the jaw is strong. The nose is right, short and broad. Ears are broad at the base, rounded on top with hairs of lynx to the end.

5. Eyes large, expressive and are rounded (especially not round!). The colour can vary from yellow to green, and blue for pointed fur, but must be in harmony with the dress.

6. Hairs are very thick, it’s a true fur, impermeable to water and very beautiful. Around the neck it forms a large collar and on the back legs - " trousers ". The colour and the drawing of the dress infinitely vary, most common being the tabby drawing.

As we already mentioned, the Siberian is probably the largest domestic cat and reach on average 8 kg, but males often weight more than 10-12 kg. This race is perfectly appropriate to a family life, is self-confident, proud, does few silly things and has a calm temperament.
